From what you have mentioned, the answer to your question lies in the notice that USCIS has sent to your attorney....The letter should have exactly the steps needed and the time to respond....Your best bet is to request the attorney to send you a copy of the letter....
Personally, I think USCIS would request the empoyer to sign the check or re-issue a new one and send it within 30 days....it is not a big deal....

my brother got recently married and his wife went to stamping in kolkata and they gave 221g for h4 and 2 days later they even cancelled my brothers exiting stamped H1 and his visa.he is in IT industry

How abt someone obtains online authorization to mail letters on members behalf.
I mean members authorize mailing a letter on their behalf by IV.

When I called USCIS the IO officer said there are no visa number and it makes no sense in opening any SR and I have been told to wait at least until Oct 2008. She was bit rude but it made sense for me to wait for at least few more months before calling.

SKIL Bill will resolve lot of our issues. There are lot of people supporting this BILL. And, many Big companies are behind this BILL. Still, this Bill is stuck in the congress for many months. Why ? What is happening with this Bill ? We don't know the future of this Bill ? It is in a Black box now !
But,we have to do something to pass this BILL. What options we have ?

Did anyone travel to India, by landing at Delhi Intl airport, and then proceeding to other destination city through a domestic airline?
Never been to Delhi, and I have no idea how Intl and domestic travel works in tandem...

Once while coming back from from Mumbai via Delhi, we did not have to change the flights, sat in the same flight to London.
And on other occasion where the connecting flight was Sahara to a Local Indian airport, we had to take our luggage and go to the Delhi domestic airport.
While in both cases, the Airline would arrange for the transport, Delhi has an inside route for passenger transfers(other vehicles are not allowed), while in bombay the bus goes thru the city, where the traffic is always severe.
In both the airports, if you are landing in the late morning (after 3-4am), you should follow up with the local airlines transport co-ordinator( bus driver ;)), to see what time is he gonna wake up and take you to the domestic airport.
Once when my inlaws were transferring from Bombay local to bombay international, they took a cab instead, as Jet airways did not have a bus ready to take the international passengers when they got out of the airport.

It's all gas gas gas... Manmohan Singh is heading one of the most corrupt & messy govt. in the history of India. All the ministers are busy looting the country and would like to make most in the remaining 3 years of their terms. Forget they will do anything that would benefit anybody else but themselves..it's only that overexcited journos ask the ministers what they will do and without even thinking they vomit nonsenses. Think logically how this can be a WTO issue, it is completely in their jurisdiction whatever fees they may want to charge, take it or move on...nobody is forcing them to use the expensive Visas ?

The problem is that I don't have any support (other than copy of the receipt notice) for the first I-140. I have approval notice for the second one. But the application date on the second I-140 is more than 6 months later than the application date on I-485. And because of that USCIS thinks that my I-485 is not valid based on the seconf I-140. The first I-140 was filed by a different attorney and he is not reachable through any means.

The antis regularly say that unathorized immigrants get a range of public benefits but don't pay any taxes. Not so. They're paying $8.4 billion a year in sales taxes and $1.2 billion in income taxes. And they don't get most public benefits. They get public schools for their kids and emergency rooms can't turn them away. That's pretty much it. In the mean time, a company that earned $14 billion in profits last year paid zero taxes.

You can bind them quite easily, assuming your data sources implement the correct interfaces (I believe IBindable/IBindableList).
You would use the metadata table to fill the list for the combobox and then bind the list to the 'degree' fields on your persons table
There are numerous ways to actually accomplish this, I'll run through a straight forward method using the datasource wizard
1. Drop a combobox onto the page
2. Go to the 'Data Sources' window which is usually docked on the left and add a new data source
3. Pick your data provider (I've picked database)
4. Set up your connection to connect to the database. I've just included the connection data in the application for the sake of simplicity
5. Choose the table you wish to bind to - this will be the 'metadata' table with your degrees
6. Finish the wizard, now in the datasources window you should have your table visible.
7. Drag the whole table onto the combobox
8. The program will assign the DisplayMember and ValueMember of the combobox automatically, you can modify it in the combobox properties - the ValueMember is the underlying identifier (the ID column) whereas the DisplayMember is the value you will actually see in the box
9. Repeat steps 1-6 to add your 'persons' table to the datasources window (you can use the same connection as you used before, you won't need to add another)
10. Once you have added the persons table, in the datasources window expand the persons table so you can see all of the actual columns of the table.
11. Find the column you will be binding to (the degree1 column for instance) and drag that onto the combobox.
12. Finished!
Of course you will need to make sure that a certain record from your persons table is selected as the datasource contains a record pointer - you can always drop a BindingNavigator control on there and associate it with the datasource but it does look a bit 'Microsoft Accesss' so I don't use them. Of course you will probably be getting to your persons form via a persons list in the first place so naturally you will be passing in the persons 'ID' and finding that person in the table using the ID

Visual Studio tends to be quite intelligent in this respect - if you drag a data column onto a bindable control it knows that it should bind the 'value' of that control to the data source. If you drag an entire data table or data container onto the control it knows to bind any 'list' objects to it.
VS 2008 will have already added the necessary code to 'bind' the objects at runtime - check your 'onload' function in the VB code
Of course you've only really got one thing to bind to on a textbox so you get different functionality (with respect though you can actually bind to any property of a control but most of the time why would you want to?)

In fact I'm not 100% on how the data gets written back with tableadapters. You may want to read up on them, I usually use custom objects which implement the bindable interfaces.

I wish both of them good luck to get visa stamp. it will be tough taking into consideration there is indian invasion in US. there are a lot of indians here in US on legal status,but a considerable precentage of indians coming here on visitor visa and stay illegally after I94 expired and trying to convert "visitor" visa to something else.
